1. South Florida Community Development Coalition

The 79th Street Project has received extensive staff and policy support from the South Florida Housing and Community Development Coalition, an association of more than 37 community-based organizations working to reverse the downward social and economic spiral in South Florida's low-income neighborhoods. Its staff has been instrumental in bringing the partners together and providing technical support to the emerging project.

The Coalition's web site has a "virtual tour" that permits members of the coalition, the public, and would-be development partners to visit the 79th Street Project area through the Internet (www.floridacdc.org).

The Coalition is prepared to address the barriers in public policies or regulations that the 79th Street Project may encounter. It is also an organizational vehicle through which what is learned in this project can be learned by other community development corporations in South Florida.
